Bob Parker

One of the finest offensive and defensive linemen in Memphis football history, Bob Parker came to the Tigers in 1967 after a stellar prep career in Taylorville, Illinois. He signed with former head coach Billy J. Murphy and began his varsity career in 1967. He would earn letters for three years and his honors include being named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, selection to the All-Missouri Valley Conference and All-South Teams, and being chosen for the East-West Shrine All-Star game and the Coaches All-America Game. He received All-America honors from Associated Press, United Press and The Football News in 1969. This fall, Athlon Publications named Parker to the Memphis All-Time Football Team. After graduation, he began a coaching career that ended at Illinois College in 1979 when he opened his own real estate business in Tulsa, OK.
