Tim Corder played baseball for the Memphis State Tigers under head coach Bobby Kilpatrick for three seasons. The hard-throwing righthander from Covington, Tennessee, became a starter as a freshman and posted nine wins during the 1981 season. During the 1982 season, Corder won 10 games, which ranks as the third highest single season total in school history. As a junior he won eight games in leading Memphis State to a 32-10 record. Corder, who signed with the Boston Red Sox after his junior season, finished his career with a 27-3 record. He holds the Memphis State record for the most complete games in a season (8) and is ranked third in most victories in a season (10). He is ranked third in career strikeouts with 189 and second in career victories with 27. Corder was named to the All Metro Conference team for three consecutive years and was twice named to the Baseball Coaches of America All-America Team.
