MEMPHIS, TENN. - University of Memphis Tiger Football team continued with their early morning workout sessions at Murphy Athletic Complex in preparation for their Sept. 4 season-opener against Ole Miss in Oxford. The Tigers continued their conditioning workout in helmets and shorts, and will begin full-pad practices on Monday, Aug. 16. Day two of football practice went off without a hitch, and the players and staff were treated to cooler temperatures for the second day in a row. "We've had two productive days out here so far," said Head Coach Tommy West. "I think these guys are in a good frame of mind. That is one of the benefits of having an older team, most of the guys know what is ahead. "The atmosphere out here has been neat," added West. "These guys don't say a whole lot, but they are loose. They come out here and take care of business. That's what mature teams do." West reserved comments on singling out any players, saying that "all the guys look good right now. They all have fresh legs." The squad will have a single practice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, before suiting up in full pads for two-a-day practice on Monday.
