Jan 15, 2026 | Football
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis football program has reached an agreement with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to play a home-and-home series in 2026 and 2029.
The first ever meeting between Memphis and UNLV will take place in Nevada this August when the program open up a new era of football with Charles Huff at the helm.
"We're excited to announce a home-and-home football series with UNLV that brings together two dynamic programs and great college football environments," Senior Vice President and Director of Athletics Ed Scott, Ph.D. said. "This series gives our student-athletes the opportunity to compete against a strong opponent, provides memorable experiences for our fans in both Memphis and Las Vegas, and reflects our commitment to scheduling nationally relevant matchups that elevate our program."
Memphis has played a plethora of Mountain West teams in the past, most recently against Boise State inside Simmons Banks Liberty Stadium back in 2023. The Tigers are schedule to go back to Idaho to take on the Broncos this season.
The Rebels will make their way to Memphis in 2029 for a mid-September match-up.
UNLV has been one of the top Group of Five programs in recent years, collecting 30 wins and appearing in the Mountain West Championship game over the last three seasons.
