Oct 07, 2026 | Men's Golf
IRVING, Texas. – University of Memphis senior Yixiang Wang has been named the American Conference September Men's Golf Player of the Month, the league announced Wednesday.
Wang, a senior from Dalian, China, paced the Tigers in both September tournaments, carding a 68.0 stroke average. This marks the third career conference honor for Wang, who was named American Conference Golf Player of the Month in October 2025 and Golfer of the Week on April 2, 2026.
Wang opened the fall season carding a 7-under 203 at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate to finish tied for fourth. He shot one stroke lower in his next outing, posting an 8-under 205 at the Bearcat Invitational to earn a third-place finish.
Wang's strong play propelled the Tigers to national recognition. On Sept. 25, Memphis received 11 votes in the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches' Poll—the program's highest vote total in poll records dating back to at least the 2005-06 season.
Most recently, Memphis wrapped up play Tuesday at the Cullan Brown Collegiate in Lexington, Kentucky where Wang finished in a tie for 12th place after shooting 1-under 212.
Wang and the Tigers return to action Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Quail Valley Collegiate in Vero Beach, Florida.
