BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Memphis women's soccer team picked up three points on the road Sunday evening, scoring a season-high five goals in a 5-0 victory over Florida Atlantic at FAU Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers scored three times in a 13-minute span during the first half, with Taliah Brooks, Zerina Markovic and Ellis Kelly each finding the back of the net. Grayson Williams added a pair of second-half goals to complete the scoring.

Memphis (5-3-2, 2-0-1 American) controlled the match throughout, outshooting the Owls 24-4 and holding a 15-1 advantage in shots on goal. The victory extended the Tigers' unbeaten streak in American Conference play to 32 consecutive matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Memphis opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Abby Forsgren played a ball to Brooks, who collected it and calmly placed her shot past the Florida Atlantic goalkeeper for a 1-0 advantage.
The Tigers doubled their lead in the 31st minute. Mihiro Furuya delivered a ball into the box that found Markovic, who slotted it home for the first goal of her collegiate career.
Just over two minutes later, Forsgren played Kelly into space before the sophomore fired a strong effort that was tipped by the goalkeeper but had enough pace to find the back of the net and give Memphis a 3-0 lead.
Memphis continued to apply pressure after halftime and added a fourth goal in the 75th minute. Williams made an immediate impact off the bench, scoring with her first touch of the match off assists from Forsgren and Ally Casey.
Williams completed her brace in the 90th minute, finishing an unassisted effort for her second goal of the night and putting the finishing touches on the 5-0 victory.

NOTABLES

Memphis' five goals were a season high and the most in a match since scoring six against Temple at the end of last season.
- The Tigers also set season highs in points (15), assists (5) and shots on goal (15).
Memphis outshot Florida Atlantic 24-4 and held a 15-1 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Tigers have now outshot their opponents 190-72 this season and hold an 86-36 advantage in shots on goal.
Forsgren continued her impressive freshman campaign, playing all 90 minutes and providing a career-high three assists.
- Her three assists were the most by a Memphis player in a match since All-American Stasia Mallin recorded four against Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 12, 2019.
- Forsgren now has 11 points, tied for the team lead, while her five assists lead the Tigers.
Brooks scored her second goal of the season after making her second consecutive start.
- She now has five goals and 12 points in her Memphis career.
Markovic followed up a strong performance at South Florida by scoring the first goal of her collegiate career.
- Coming off the bench, Markovic set career highs in goals (1), shots (6) and shots on goal (4) in 50 minutes of action.
Kelly netted her second goal of the season in the 33rd minute.
- The sophomore recorded six shots and a career-high five shots on goal in 69 minutes.
Williams turned in a career night despite playing just 16 minutes off the bench.
- Her first touch after entering the match resulted in her first collegiate goal before she added another in the 90th minute.
- Williams became the second Tiger to record a multi-goal match this season, joining Ai Kitagawa, who scored twice against Kennesaw State.
Furuya picked up her first assist of the season on Markovic's goal.
- The assist was the fifth of her career.
Ava Galani earned her fifth win of the season and recorded her fourth shutout, making one save in 80:17 of action.
- Galani is tied for second in the American Conference with four shutouts and now has five in her career.
Riley Stooksbury made her collegiate debut, playing the final 9:43 in goal for the Tigers.
Evelyn Mackay, Maira Boosman, Ava Gaida, Casey and Forsgren each played the full 90 minutes.
Memphis improved to 5-3-2 overall and 2-0-1 in American Conference play.
The Tigers extended their American Conference unbeaten streak to 32 consecutive matches.
- Memphis' last conference loss came on Oct. 27, 2022, at SMU.
