Outlook for 2007: Settled into a very valuable role in the Tigers' bullpen in 2006 and appears headed back to the same role in 2007...Coaches love the experience he brings to the table and the stability he brings to the bullpen...Enjoyed a very fine summer in the Valley League...Coaching staff is going to try to find a way to get the ball in his hands in big moments in big games.
2006 (Junior): One of the Tiger's top relief options...Went 4-1 with a 4.83 ERA...Was 4-0 with a 4.33 ERA in 20 relief outings...Made a team-high 21 appearances...Tossed 54 innings and struck out 46...Picked up the win in the Tigers 2-0 season-opening win at Alabama...Won his last three decisions of the year...Fanned a career-high seven in a career-long 5.0 inning outing against East Carolina...Picked up wins against Southern Miss, UT-Martin and ECU.
Summer 2006: Had a dominant summer for the Luray Wranglers of the Valley League...Teamed with Tiger first baseman Adam Amar on the Wrangler's roster...Helped Luray claim the 2006 Valley League Championship...Luray Valley League North Division All-Star...Posted a 4-1 record...Led the team and finished second in the league with a 1.65 ERA...Won each of his first three decisions...44 strikeouts (eight looking) and just 15 walks in 54.2 innings of work...Led Luray's pitching staff with 10 starts... Pitched the ninth inning of the Valley League All-Star Game and fanned two in a 2-2 tie...Tossed 5.1 scoreless innings in the Wrangler's 3-2 win over Staunton in Game Five of the Valley Championship.
Meridian Community College: Was an all-district selection as a sophomore..Garnered 10 wins...2004: Pitched in a variety of roles in his freshman season at Meridian...Finished the season with a 5-1 record and a 2.40 ERA, with 37 strikeouts in a team-high 18 appearances...Also posted three complete games and one save...Finished his juco career with 15 wins.
Prep: Was a four-year letterman in both baseball (pitcher) and football (quarterback and linebacker) in his prep career at North Pike High School...Received All-State honors in baseball and All-Region recognition in football as a junior at NPHS.
