Liza Wellford Fletcher Stadium
LIZA WELLFORD FLETCHER STADIUM

The work towards a new stadium for men's and women's soccer and track and field began on July 17, 2025. The initiative to provide a state-of-the-art soccer facility was unveiled in August 2024, with the help of the Liza's Light University of Memphis Soccer and Track Stadium Fund.

We are calling this project Liza’s Light for a reason. It really is how she lived her life.”Brooks Monaghan, head women's soccer coach
About Liza
Liza Wellford Fletcher played soccer at the University of Memphis from 2006-07. A 2006 graduate of Hutchison School, Liza was a member of the 2007 team that won the first of 15 conference championships for the program. A proud Memphian, Liza was a beloved teacher, dedicated runner, and an inspiring figure in the Memphis community. In her honor, we are building a new stadium that reflects her passion and dedication.

IN THE MEANTIME…
For the 2025 season, fans are encouraged to bring their own seats to home games. Temporary seating in the form of bleachers will be placed across the track, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
