Monica Baker is a physical therapist and certified athletic trainer with 19 years of experience in outpatient rehabilitation. She holds certifications in Integrative Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction Therapy, Kinesio Taping and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. She is currently training in Maitland Manual Therapy.
Baker is a certified Yoga Sports Performance instructor and registered Holy Yoga instructor. She is an honorary member of The University of Memphis M Club Hall of Fame, as a recipient of the Ralph Hatley Award for dedication and service to the Athletic Department.
She received her Bachelor of Science from Southern Arkansas University in 1997 and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas in 1999. She moved to Memphis in 2000 and joined Baptist Memorial Hospital Collierville as a physical therapist.
In 2005, she became lead physical therapist and operated an outpatient clinic for Baptist Hospital in the Collierville Community Center. Monica volunteered with The University of Memphis Athletic Department for 16 years before moving on campus in 2018 to serve as the fulltime team physical therapist, contracted through Baptist Memorial Hospital Collierville.
She loves trail running and is an ultra-runner and yogi. She believes that health and well-being is a complete balance of mind, body and soul, and hopes to apply that philosophy to her treatment of athletes.
