Bill Hudson, an standout offensive tackle for Memphis came to the Tigers from Grove High School in Paris, Tenn. He became a starter in the first game of his freshman year, and did not miss a game his entire career. After a four-year stint at U of M, Hudson was selected to play in the Blue-Gray All-Star game, the Senior Bowl All-Star game, and the College All-Star game in 1962. Hudson was a second round draft choice of the San Diego Chargers in 1962, and played one season before being traded to the Buffalo Bills. Hudson became an instant success in Buffalo, starting at tackle for six years. He was a member of the Bills championship teams in 1964 and 1965, and was named to the Bills’ All-Decade Team for the 1960s. He was selected to play in the AFL All-Star game in 1965, and was an All-League selection in 1966. Hudson, who holds Undergraduate and Master’s degrees from U of M, served as an assistant principal at Henry County High School.
