Smart Promotes Jackson to Associate Head Coach

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis head men's golf coach Blake Smart announced Wednesday the promotion of assistant coach Isaiah Jackson to associate head coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.
"I am thrilled to promote Coach Jackson to associate head coach," Smart said. "As an alumnus and coach, he has served the city, the University, and this program with full commitment. I believe he has a strong desire to continue improving himself and the players we are fortunate enough to lead every day."
Jackson returned to his alma mater to join Smart's coaching staff in the summer of 2023 after serving as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs at Bowling Green State University during the 2022-23 season.
"I am super excited, blessed, and thankful for this promotion within our program here at Memphis," Jackson said. "I love this program and this university. I am excited to continue following the leadership and example of Coach Smart to push our athletes to be better every day and compete at the highest level in collegiate golf."
During his coaching tenure at Memphis, Jackson has helped guide the program to three tournament victories—including two this past season—as well as 28 top-10 finishes. He helped lead the Tigers to an NCAA Championship appearance during the 2025-26 season and coached a pair of American All-Conference selections in Yixiang Wang and Diego Lourenco.
Before joining the coaching ranks, Jackson enjoyed a standout playing career for the Tigers. A native of Golden, Mississippi, he set Memphis' single-season stroke average record (70.00) during the 2019-20 season and won both the 2018 Patriot All-America Championship and 2020 Mississippi Amateur. He earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Memphis in 2021.
