Ken Lindsay came to the University of Memphis in the fall of 1961 and played for the Tiger golf team through the 1965 season. The native of Glencoe, Alabama, attended Glencoe High School where he played football, basketball and golf, winning the state prep golf title four consecutive years. Lindsay played in all of the matches each year as a Tiger and was undefeated as a freshman and as a senior. He was selected as team captain as a sophomore and added eight consecutive wins that season to go with his ten consecutive victories as a freshman, giving him a Memphis record 18 consecutive wins. He completed his Memphis career winning 40 of the 44 matches he played as a Tiger. He entered the Air Force as a 2nd lieutenant in 1966 and won the 1968 World Air Force Championship in San Antonio, Texas. Lindsay enter the professional golf industry in 1970 as a club professional in Jackson, Mississippi, and thus began a long career with the PGA of America. In 1983 he was named the National PGA Golf Professional of the Year and earned his PGA Master Professional degree that same year. He was named the National Instructor of the Year in 1987 and served on the National PGA Board of Directors from 1989-91. From 1993-1998 he held numerous administrative offices with the PGA of America including serving as the National PGA President in 1997 and 1998. From 2001 until 2009, Lindsay has served as a rules official for the PGA Champions Tour.
