• Kimmi Hayden had her team-leading 10th multi-hit game of the season with a double and a single. Hayden hit her third double of the season in the game.
• Heather Mott hit her third double of the season in the fourth inning to score the only run of the game. It is her 21st RBI of the season and third game-winning hit. The RBI scored Hayden from second for her second game-winning run and 15th run.
• This is the second game Memphis has won this season when scoring two runs are less. The Tigers are now 2-13 in those games.
• Memphis is now 14-4 when scoring the first run in the game.
• The Tigers were out hit by the Miners 6-4 in the game. It is only the fifth victory for Memphis when being out hit as the team improves its mark in those games to 15-5.
• Memphis is now 11-1 when leading after five inning and 3-4 in one-run games.
• Kimber Bossom threw her third shutout of the season for her eighth victory.
• Leila Dolfo had 13 putouts at first base in the game, which ranks in a tie for third all-time at Memphis.
• Kimmi Hayden improved her hitting streak to three games.
• Memphis is now 4-2 all-time against UTEP and 3-0 at home against the Miners.
• The win snapped a program worst eight-game losing streak for Memphis and gave the Tigers their first league victory after starting 0-8.
• This is the third complete game this season that Kimber Bossom has not allowed a walk.
