• Memphis has now scored 19 of its 49 runs through 12 games in the first inning and is 7-1 when scoring in the first.
• The Tigers earned their eighth-straight win, tying a program record for longest winning streak. Memphis had an eight-game streak in 2007.
• Memphis beat its second ranked opponent of the season with wins coming against then #22 Ohio State and #16/17 Stanford. The Tigers also beat Kentucky, which is currently ranked #24.
• Jessica Phillips homered in back-to-back games for the first time in her career with a two-run shot against Alabama A&M on Wednesday and a solo shot against Stanford. She leads the team with four home runs on the season, tying her season high of four last year. It was her third multiple hit and multiple RBI game of the season.
• Carly Hummel has yet to allow more than two earned runs in a game this season as she improves to 6-0 on the year. Hummel had a 20-inning scoreless streak snapped in the fifth inning by Stanford. The previous run given up by the sophomore came in the sixth inning against Kentucky on Feb. 13.
• The win against Stanford is the first victory since 2007 against a team from California and the Tigers' first win over a Pac 10 opponent (1-2).
• Memphis continues to improve on its best start in program history, moving to 10-2 on the season.
• The Tigers are now 6-2 this season in one-run games.
