MEMPHIS, Tenn. - University of Memphis Head Coach Daron Schoenrock continues his efforts to keep the area's best talent at home, as he announced that Christian Brothers High School centerfielder/pitcher Jacob Moody has made a decision to wear the Blue and Gray.
"We are thrilled that Jacob has decided to become a Tiger," Schoenrock said. "His athleticism, work ethic and competitiveness will fit very nicely into our plans for the future."
A three-year letterwinner for Buster Kelso's CBHS squad, Moody had an all-star campaign in 2010, leading the Brothers to the state semi-finals and a 32-9 record. As a junior, Moody hit .366 with 44 runs scored and was among the top high school players in Tennessee with 10 home runs and 15 doubles.
Moody, who hit three home runs in a game last season to collect 10 RBI, has earned All-State, All-West, All-Metro and All-State Tournament selections in his high school career. He was invited to the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association (TBCA) Showcase and East Coast Pro Showcase in Lakeland, Fla.
