Tigers’ Kimberley Smit named to TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Team of the Week

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis junior defender Kimberley Smit has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Team of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.
Smit collected her second American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor this season on Monday.
The Wassenaar, Netherlands, native, helped the Tigers (6-1, 5-0 AAC) to a pair of road wins in a four-day span, winning at Cincinnati 2-0 Thursday and at Temple 2-1 Sunday. The Tigers lead the AAC with 15 points, outscoring their five league opponents 8-1, and are now unbeaten in their past 17 regular-season conference games dating back to 2018.
Smit helped keep the Bearcats scoreless with her defense and scored the game-winner at Cincinnati with her first goal of the season and fifth in her career after a Tigers' free kick in the 42nd minute.
Smit was joined on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week by Penn State midfielder Sam Coffey, California goalkeeper Angelina Anderson, Indiana defender Oliwia Wos, TCU defender Mariana Akins and LSU defender Shannon Cooke.
Memphis will play its third of four consecutive road games on Saturday at 6 p.m. against No. 4 Vanderbilt on SEC Network+.
