MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis football team defeated Tulsa, 26-10, on Thursday night at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tenn.

Quarterback Seth Henigan led the Tigers (5-5, 3-4 American Athletic Conference) on the night offensively, completing 20-of-34 passes for 262 yards and a touchdown. Henigan has thrown for a score in every career game, extending his streak to 21-straight contests.

Wide receiver Javon Ivory had his first 100-yard receiving game of the season, matching his career-high with seven receptions for 123 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown. Running back Asa Martin ran for a three-yard score as well.

Defensively, Jaylon Allen tied his career high with two sacks and four quarterback hurries against the Golden Hurricanes (3-7, 1-5 AAC), while Xavier "Zay" Cullens led the Tigers with eight tackles and a fumble recovery.

Special teams also shined on Thursday night for Memphis, as kicker Chris Howard hit all four of his field goals, while punter Joe Doyle punted six times for an average of 44.2 yards per kick, pinning Tulsa inside the 20-yard line four times. Eddie Lewis returned seven punts for 80 yards, including a career-long 25-yard return. His seven punt returns are tied for third most in program history.

After the Golden Hurricanes kicked a field goal to take a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, the Tigers scored the game's next 23 points to seize control of the game. In the fourth, Tulsa scored a touchdown to cut the lead to 13, but Memphis recovered the ensuing onside kick, marched down the field and kicked a field goal.

With the victory, the Tigers became just the fourth FBS team since 2014 to win 50 games at home, joining Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State.

The Memphis Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 19 when the team hosts North Alabama on Senior Day at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff and will be televised on ESPN+.
