MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tied 4-4 Tuesday night in the first of a 10-game homestand, the Memphis Tigers (19-18, 4-8) scored the final nine runs of the game in a 13-4 win over the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils (10-19-1, 4-13). After Memphis took the lead on a two-run single by SS Ben Brooks in the sixth inning, the Tigers put the game away with a six-run seventh frame, highlighted by a grand slam from 1B Jacob Compton.

How it happened:

LHP Jacob Gilmore (ND) retired nine of the first 10 batters that he faced, while Memphis plated a pair in the third off of Ethan Charles, which put the Tigers in front 2-0
The Delta Devils tied the game in the fourth on two singles, an error, and then took the lead in the fifth on CF Narvin Booker's solo home run that made it 3-2 MVSU
Memphis' first three batters in the home half of the fifth reached safely, while an RBI groundout from DH Taylor Howell tied the game and a sacrifice fly by 2B Austin Baskin put Memphis in front 4-3
MVSU turned a leadoff walk into a run in the sixth, which tied the game, but the Tigers countered right back in the home half of the sixth on Brooks' two-run single that made it 6-4 Memphis, a lead the Tigers never relinquished
Memphis batted around in the six-run seventh frame, as Baskin and 3B Tyler Harrington both scored on a double from C Brennan DuBose, while Compton's grand slam followed three consecutive walks, as Memphis led 12-4 after seven
Brooks drew a bases loaded walk in the eighth off of RHP Jose Salazar-Ortega, the Delta Devils' 10^th pitcher of the game, which made it 13-4, the eventual final

CF Zach Wilson (2-4) and RF Blake Daniels (1-4) each extended their hit streaks to nine games
Daniels has now reached base in 13 straight contests, while LF Ian Bibiloni (2-3) has reached in 11 straight
