MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis baseball team heads to Little Rock, Ark., for a mid-week game with UA-Little Rock scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Gary Hogan Field.
The Tigers (8-8) dropped a weekend series at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field this past weekend to Indiana State, three games to none and aim to get back in the win column on Tuesday afternoon.
"We have to continue to teach, and develop the right culture, which will put us in a position to play better baseball as we move forward," head coach Kerrick Jackson said. "Once that is instilled in them, we will be a very solid ball club."
The Trojans (9-4) will enter Tuesday coming off a weekend sweep over Grambling State and have won five-straight games. Offensively, UA-Little Rock is led by Skyler Trevino (.364 BA, 5 HR, 21 RBI) and Nico Baumbach (.313 BA, 7 HR, 14 RBI). The Trojans projected starter is right-hander Noah Burkey (7.11 ERA, 12.2 IP).
Freshman right-hander Caden Robinson is expected to make his first collegiate start. Robinson made his debut at Nicholls back on March 5, throwing one inning, allowing two hits, a run and notching a strikeout.
Memphis owns a 40-11 all-time advantage in the series and won the last meeting over the Trojans in 2018 at FedExPark.
All fans will receive free admission to Tiger home games in March, and kids ages 12 and under get in free all season long. Half-season ticket packages are available at GoTigersGo.com for all games beginning in April.
