Memphis Travels to UT-Martin for Midweek Game

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger softball team heads to Ut-Martin to take on the Skyhawks in a midweek game on Tuesday night, April 11. The Tigers (6-32) look to bounce back from the series sweep against Wichita State last weekend before heading out to East Carolina this weekend, April 14-16.
"We are looking forward to this game and seeing the learning and progress we've made from this past weekend." Said head coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro. "We've been setting goals with our pitchers and our hitters and we are looking forward to seeing those executed on Tuesday."
UT-Martin (15-17) currently sitting on a three-game win streak and are 7-4 at home. The Skyhawks most recently defeated Tennessee Tech in a series sweep April 7-8. UT-Martin currently sits third in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) and is looking to continue its win streak this week.
Two Tigers are currently hitting .300 or higher: Kendall Lee and Sam Ibison. Aliana Zavala and Meagan Chism lead the team in RBIs, Chism with 17 and Zavala. Zavala leads Memphis in homeruns with four on the season with Chism, Lee and Madison Berner following closely behind with two apiece. Ibison also leads the Tigers in hits with 31 with Lee right behind recording 28 so far. Pitcher Hallie Siems leads the Tigers with 79 strikeouts so far on the season.
Memphis will begin the game against UT-Martin Tuesday, April 11, at 3 p.m. in Martin, Tenn.
