Tigers Finish Tied for Eighth in Shortened Pirate Collegiate Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. – In the team's final round of the Pirate Collegiate Classic, the University of Memphis women's golf team saw a seven-stroke improvement from yesterday to finish in a tie for eighth place at 25 over par.

Due to inclement weather in the area, the tournament was shortened to a 36-hole tournament.

Junior Tilly Garfoot and sophomore Nutsanun Khamphueng led the way for the Tigers, both finishing in a six-way tie for 17^th place after going four over par for the tournament. Nicole Strydom was not too far behind after going six over par while Claire Swathwood and Emily Wilson clocked in at a tie for 58^th place.

Memphis will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 14 when they take part in the Lady Redwolves Classic hosted by Arkansas State.
