Lewis Named to Davey O’Brien Great 8 List

FORT WORTH, Texas – University of Memphis quarterback Brendon Lewis has been named to the Davey O'Brien Award's Great 8 for week nine of the season, the Davey O'Brien Foundation announced Monday.

With being named to the list, Lewis also finds himself on the Davey O'Brien Award Midseason Watch List. The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award is presented annually to the nation's best college quarterback and is the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award.

Lewis, who helped the Tigers to a 34-31 win over No.18/20 South Florida this past weekend, had a career day in the air with 307 passing yards and two touchdowns. Connecting with 10 receivers for the second time this season, Lewis found Cortez Braham Jr. twice during the game – including the go-ahead score with 1:07 remaining in the game.

This is the second Davey O'Brien Great 8 nod for Lewis this season.
