Tigers Fall to #57 Columbia

NEW YORK, N.Y. – In its first match of the weekend, the University of Memphis women's tennis team went down to the wire with 57th-ranked Columbia. Despite fighting back from a deficit, the Lions took the tiebreaker in the final match of the day to make it a 4-3 Columbia advantage.

The Tigers got their way in doubles play with Leonie Moeller and Emily Meyer collecting a 6-4 win while Alice Amendola and Clemence Thouard picked up their seventh win of the season as a duo.

It was Amendola and Thouard who got the singles wins for Memphis in the five and six slots, respectively while Columbia's Malak El Allami took the 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 tiebreaker over Moeller to hand Memphis the 4-3 loss.
