MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Battling wretched weather and multiple delays, a small group of Memphis field athletes competed at the Rhodes Invitational from March 14-15, with five Tigers picking up event victories and another four finishing in the top three.
All nine athletes that competed place inside the top three. Alessandro Belluz and Gozie Okafor each won the men's and women's long jump, respectively, with Jean Yves Thiemele Marco winning the men's high jump. Freshmen Ethan Belcher (pole vault) and Adela Mullerova (javelin throw) took the gold in their first collegiate outdoor meet.
