Memphis Set for Weekend Series at East Carolina

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Tigers softball (15-21, 4-8 AAC) travels to Greenville, N.C. for a weekend series at East Carolina (20-16, 6-6 AAC).
The Friday and Saturday games will be broadcast on the ECU Pirates Network, with the Sunday game on ESPN+.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis comes off an American Athletic Conference series against UAB where the Tigers won one of three, with the win coming in walk-off fashion.
Neely Taylor leads the Tiger offense with a .352 batting average and has currently started all 36 games for Memphis this season. Kennedy Semien trails behind Taylor with a .327 batting average, but she also leads the team in runs scored with 28 and has driven in 19 runs. Freshman Faith Brown has also emerged as a key piece of the Memphis lineup, recorded a start in 17 of Memphis' 18 games during the month of March. Brown holds a .310 batting average with four doubles and 14 RBI, with six coming in conference games.
Zoe Adebayo recently snapped her multi-game hitless streak with a solo home run in Memphis' series finale against UAB. She holds the highest OPS (1.063) on the team, also leading the Tigers in home runs (6) and RBI (27), while being tied with Semien for the lead in doubles with eight.
Rylee Dugar sits with the best ERA in the Memphis pitching staff, currently sitting at a 4.02. She also leads the Tigers in wins (5), innings pitched (69.2) and strikeouts (45). Lyrical Bennett earned Memphis' lone win in the circle against UAB, throwing 124 pitches over nine innings of work for her second extra-inning complete game victory of the season.

Kanisha Anderson leads the Pirate offense with a .437 batting average, one of the highest in the American Athletic Conference. On the season, she has five doubles and five triples, resulting in an OPS of 1.023. She is one of five East Carolina hitters above the .900 mark in OPS. The Pirates (Emma Jackson, Morgan Johnson, Annie Kate Dalton) have slugged at least eight home runs on the season. Jackson's 13 home runs rank 20th in the nation, with the team's 45 home runs coming in at 28th nationally.
In the circle, East Carolina is led by a duo in Taylor Apple and Kendall Frost, who have combined for 184 of the Pirates' 238.1 innings pitched. Each have eight wins, with Apple leading the staff in ERA (3.29) and strikeouts (88).
