Softball Announces Signing of Iowa Transfer Mya Clark
Jun 01, 2025 | Softball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis softball head coach Trena Prater announced Memphis' first transfer signing ahead of the 2025-26 season in Mya Clark.
Clark spent the previous two seasons at Iowa, appearing in three games while earning a redshirt in 2024.
"I was a big part of Mya's recruiting process when I was at the University of Iowa," said Prater. "It is a blessing for life to come full circle and for me to get a chance to be a part of her growth as a young woman on and off the field. She will be an asset to our offence, outfield and pitching staff. I have seen her at her best and I know that she will be an impact player for us."
The redshirt freshman appeared in three contests over two seasons with the Hawkeyes, making her collegiate debut against Utah as a pinch hitter during the 2024 season. She also made her debut as a pitcher during the 2025 season against Tennessee at the 2025 NFCA Leadoff Classic.
Clark was a highly rated recruit in the 2023 recruiting cycle, being ranked as the No. 41 player in the Extra Innings Softball Elite 100 rankings and had reached as high as the No. 23 position in her class.
The Alabama native was selected to the Class 4A All-Region, All-State and All-Area teams, while also being named the Alabama 4A Hitter of the Year. As a senior, Clark was named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association 6A All-State team.
