Prater Adds Outfielder Isabella Hune Ahead of 2026 Season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Former Texas A&M-Corpus Christi outfielder Isabella Hune has become Memphis softball's seventh incoming transfer, announced by head coach Trena Prater on Friday. Hune becomes the 13th newcomer added to the 2025-26 roster.
Hune spent her first two collegiate seasons as an Islander, starting in 51 of 71 games played for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
"Isabella is a very competitive and gritty player that is looking to continue to grow her game," head coach Trena Prater said. "I think she is coming here with a chip on her shoulder and will compete on a daily basis to make this team better. We recruited her from the Lonestar State Collegiate League where she was able to play free and enjoy the game again. I believe that she has talent that she has not tapped into yet, and I look forward to seeing her blossom as a player under our coaching staff."
In her first collegiate game, Hune went 3-for-5 with two RBI, while going 3-for-5 again with two doubles and two RBI the next day. She was a mainstay in the Islander outfield, recording nine assists over two seasons.
Hune competed in the Lonestar State Collegiate League over the summer, logging a .363 batting average and a .484 on-base percentage on her way to being named an all-star.
The San Antonio native was a four-year letterwinner at William J. Brennan High School, also earning All-District Academic First Team honors three times. In 2022, Hune was named to the All-State All-Academic Team. She was a two-time All-District First Team honoree in 2021 and 2022, also collecting District Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2023.
