IRVING, Texas – Freshman Ellis Kelly was tabbed the first American Conference Freshman of the Week for the 2025 season, and senior Flavie Dube was named to the honorable mention, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
The recognitions come on the back of two victories at home to open the season, a 6-0 thumping of Southern Miss and a 3-2 victory over Ole Miss on Thursday and Sunday, respectively.
Kelly, a Wilmington, North Carolina, native, burst onto the scene in the opening game, scoring her debut goal less than five minutes into the game and finishing with two goals and an assist against the Lady Eagles. After an assist against Ole Miss, she totaled two goals and two assists in 117 minutes.
The lone senior on the team, Dubé has led by example to the tune of two goals and an assist, including the opening goal against the Rebels on Sunday. With five early points, she has already surpassed her point total from her junior season in which she played 14 games and logged two points.
Memphis will be back in action this Thursday, August 21, as they travel to face Kennesaw State. The match will kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT and be broadcast on ESPN+.
