MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis quarterback Brendon Lewis was named to the 2025 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award's preseason watch list, the organization announced Wednesday.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: Played football at and graduated from a Texas High School and/or currently playing at Texas D1 four-year college.
A 35-game starter, Lewis comes to Memphis after a two-year stint at Nevada where he threw for 2,290 yards with 16 touchdowns while clocking in at 11th in the nation in completion percentage (0.676). The dual threat play-caller also recorded 775 yards on the ground with eight scores of his own.
The redshirt senior out of Melissa, Texas earned a 2024 All-Mountain West Honorable Mention nod while leading the team in total offense (3,065 yards) and rushing.
The Watch List announced today will be narrowed to up to 16 semifinalists in November and then up to 5 finalists in December. They will be selected by broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans, and previous winners. The winner will be announced in December and celebrated at The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet scheduled for January 21, 2026 in Tyler, Texas.
Memphis football fans can see the Tigers at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in the team's season opener on Saturday, Aug. 30 with single-game tickets starting at just $20. The team's season opener against Chattanooga is the annual "901 Game" with tickets available AT THIS LINK.
New this year, fans are encouraged to purchase early and save. Ticket prices will increase by $5 during game week ($10 for Arkansas) and again by an additional $5 on game day ($10 for Arkansas) at the Box Office. This change helps support enhanced planning for security, concessions, and staffing. Historically, over 90% of single-game tickets are purchased during game week.
Season ticket prices remain unchanged from 2024, following a perfect 7-0 home campaign. With prices averaging under $25 per game, season tickets remain the best value for Tiger fans. Tickets can be purchased online at GoTigersGo.com or by calling the Memphis Ticket Office at (901) 678-2331.
For fans seeking more flexibility, the Memphis Football Mini Plan offers access to three premier matchups — Arkansas, Tulsa, and South Florida — starting at just $85.
