FedEx and Memphis Athletics Strengthen Ties Through Reimagined Sponsorship
Aug 20, 2025 | General
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – FedEx Corp. and University of Memphis Athletics have transitioned the previous Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) arrangement into an innovative sponsorship agreement, further evolving the longstanding relationship between two of the city's most valuable institutions.
At the heart of this sponsorship is a historic addition to the college football field— the iconic FedEx logo will be prominently featured in each end zone at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. Thanks to the support of Learfield's Tiger Sports Properties, Memphis is among the first to feature corporate branding in this way.
"The University of Memphis has a deep appreciation for FedEx and its longstanding commitment to our institution and community," University of Memphis President Dr. Bill Hardgrave said. "FedEx continues to further establish itself as a leading brand in the future of collegiate athletics. We look forward to seeing one of the world's most iconic logos in our end zones this fall."
Beyond the end zones, both sidelines will display a new visual identity featuring a lockup of the Memphis Leaping Tiger and FedEx logos, unified under the new designation line: "Moving Memphis Athletics Forward. Together."
"FedEx continues to be foundational to the success of Memphis Athletics," said Dr. Ed Scott, senior vice president and director of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Memphis. "This forward-thinking partnership with one of the world's most respected and recognizable companies enhances opportunities for our student-athletes, strengthens our athletics program and benefits the entire City of Memphis. This strategic shift positions Tiger Nation for long-term success in the ever-changing college athletics landscape."
This sponsorship agreement reimagines FedEx's nationally recognized support for Memphis Athletics and its student-athletes.
"We continue to find new ways to evolve our longstanding relationship with the University of Memphis," said Jenny Robertson, senior vice president, global brand and communications, FedEx. "Supporting sports is more than marketing – it's how we connect with fans to build loyalty and a sense of community, both in our hometown of Memphis and on a national level."
This groundbreaking collaboration reflects a shared commitment to elevating Memphis Athletics, empowering student-athletes, and showcasing the city's spirit on a national stage.
Fans can see this revamped sponsorship in action on the football field on Saturday, Aug. 30 when Memphis Football hosts Chattanooga.
