Memphis Football Receiving Votes in Preseason US LBM Coaches Poll
Aug 04, 2025 | Football
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis football team received 34 votes in the US LBM Preseason Coaches Poll on Monday. The Tigers will begin the season just outside the top 25, checking in at No. 34 in the poll.
With 34 votes, Memphis is the highest-rank program and one of just six Group of 5 teams in the country. Army (33), Tulane (31) and Navy (14) are the only other American schools to be receiving preseason votes, while the Tigers week four opponent, Arkansas, received 14 votes.
Coming off an 11-2 season that saw the Tigers secure its fifth-straight bowl title with a win over West Virginia in the Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl, Memphis returns a handful of experience in running backs Greg Desrosiers Jr. and Sutton Smith, wide receiver Brady Kluse, offensive lineman Chris Adams and defensive lineman William Whitlow Jr.
Memphis will look to build on one of the strongest home records in the country. Since 2014, the Tigers have logged 64 home victories, the fourth-most in the nation – trialing only Alabama (71), Clemson (70) and Ohio State (68). With head coach Ryan Silverfield at the helm, Memphis is 28-6 (.824) at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
Memphis football fans can see the Tigers at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in the team's season opener on Saturday, Aug. 30 with single-game tickets starting at just $20. The team's season opener against Chattanooga is the annual "901 Game" with tickets available AT THIS LINK.
New this year, fans are encouraged to purchase early and save. Ticket prices will increase by $5 during game week ($10 for Arkansas) and again by an additional $5 on game day ($10 for Arkansas) at the Box Office. This change helps support enhanced planning for security, concessions, and staffing. Historically, over 90% of single-game tickets are purchased during game week.
Season ticket prices remain unchanged from 2024, following a perfect 7-0 home campaign. With prices averaging under $25 per game, season tickets remain the best value for Tiger fans. Tickets can be purchased online at GoTigersGo.com or by calling the Memphis Ticket Office at (901) 678-2331.
For fans seeking more flexibility, the Memphis Football Mini Plan offers access to three premier matchups — Arkansas, Tulsa, and South Florida — starting at just $85.
