KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Memphis women's soccer's program-record grade point average of 3.85 for the 2024-25 academic year was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches, as they were named a College Team Academic Award winner.
The team's 3.83 GPA in the fall semester and 3.88 GPA in the spring each broke program records and were the highest recorded at Memphis for the academic year.
"I'm really proud of the girls for the work they put in this past year," said head coach Brooks Monaghan. "We really prioritize bringing in the classroom just as much as on the field, so to have one of the highest GPAs in the country is a great accomplishment."
A total of 697 soccer teams (283 men, 414 women) posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify for the Academic Award for 2024-25. Of all the teams honored, the Tigers' cumulative 3.85 was tied for the third-highest GPA of the year.
After a home scrimmage this Friday, August 8, at 6:00 p.m. against Auburn, Memphis will kick off the season at home against Southern Miss on Thursday, August 14, at 6:00 p.m. With limited bleacher seating at the under-construction Track and Soccer Stadium, fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs for home games in 2025.
