IRVING, Texas – Memphis forward Ellis Kelly won her third consecutive American Conference Freshman of the Week honor on Monday.
Kelly, a Wilmington, North Carolina, native, has stormed onto the scene in her first year in the Blue and Gray. Her goal against Missouri last Thursday was her fifth in as many games, and she ranks T-4th in the nation with 13 points (five goals, three assists).
The forward is not the first Tiger to shine as a freshman; Ai Kitagawa won four Freshman of the Week awards last season en route to 2024 Freshman of the Year, and Mya Jones also won three weekly honors as a freshman in 2019.
Kelly and the No. 15 Tigers will play two home games this week, battling No. 2 Tennessee this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. before taking on UT Martin on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
