Case Earns Honorable Mention American Pitcher of the Week Nod

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis LHP David Case received an honorable mention for the American Conference's Pitcher of the Week the conference announced Monday.

Case, a graduate student from Pasadena, Calif., pitched six innings and earned the win against Toledo in the Tigers 6-4 game three victory against the Rockets on Sunday. He allowed two runs on four hits with no walks, while adding seven strikeouts. The lefty earned the second win of his collegiate career and led the Tigers in innings pitched for the weekend. His seven punchouts came against 21 batters and he filled the strike zone with 51 strikes on 78 total pitches.

Case was edged out for Pitcher of the Week by UAB's Riley Miller, who earned the win for the Blazers in their upset victory at Florida on Friday.
