Katrina Demerle Qualifies for NCAA Championships in Smallbore

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis rifle junior Katrina Demerle has qualified for the 2026 NCAA Rifle Championships in smallbore as an individual, the NCAA announced Monday.
Demerle earned her spot in the field after a consistent campaign that saw her rank among the top smallbore shooters in the country throughout the season. The junior posted six top-five overall finishes and placed in the top five in smallbore in five of the 11 events she competed in during the 2025-26 campaign.
She averaged a 585.4 in smallbore with 33.0 centers per match and turned in two top-three smallbore finishes on the year. Her season included a runner-up smallbore performance (590, 37 centers) against No. 1 West Virginia and a third-place finish (588, 37 centers) against Army.
Demerle also delivered four top-three overall finishes, highlighted by podium placements against Akron, Morehead and Army.
Demerle and the Tigers gear up for the Great American Rifle Conference Championships this weekend in West Point, New York. The action will be across two days, spanning Saturday, Feb. 28 to Sunday, March 1.
