After surrendering runs early in the game, Memphis cut its deficit to one with a three-run sixth but was unable to complete the comeback after the Roadrunners added insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Memphis faced an early deficit after UTSA scored first in the bottom half of the first inning on an RBI single by Brookelynn Meador.
- The Roadrunners stretched their lead in the second with a single to left field that scored Samantha Mundine, who tripled to lead off the inning.
