IRVING, Texas – Daejah Richmond was among five honorable mentions on the American Conference's weekly awards tab on Monday afternoon.
In both games this week for the Tigers, the junior guard filled up the stat sheet, highlighted by her career-high seven steals in a double overtime win over East Carolina where she also had 18 points, six assists and five rebounds. For the week, her averages were 17.5 points, 5.5 steals, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists on 44% shooting, 33% from deep and 69% on eight free throws per game.
The Cordova native is rapidly rising up the program's single season steals leaderboard. She leads the conference and ranks eighth in school history with 82 in her 28 games. Her well-rounded game is also giving her a solid All-Conference case: her conference stats rank third in minutes (34.3), fifth in assists (4.3), seventh in points (15.1), 15th in rebounds (6.2) and 15th in blocks (0.8).
Richmond and the rest of the Tigers will take on UAB at home this Wednesday, March 4, at 7 p.m. to open the final week of the regular season.
