Memphis Falls at No. 34 Cornell

ITHACA, N.Y. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team came up short on the road Friday afternoon, falling 4-2 to No. 34 Cornell in Ithaca, New York.
Memphis opened the match with a strong performance on court one in doubles, as Maxime Dubouch/Moritz Kudernatsch cruised to a 6-1 victory over No. 46 Eric Verdes/Rodrigo Fernandes. However, Cornell responded by taking the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. No. 84 Rushil Khosla/Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar defeated Sam Reeve/Lasse Rensing 6-3, before Felipe Pinzon/Petar Teodorovic edged Marko Milosavljevic/Obrad Markovski 7-6 to give the Big Red a 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Cornell extended its advantage early with a win on court three, as Petar Teodorovic defeated Obrad Markovski 6-3, 6-4. The Big Red continued their momentum with two more wins to secure the match. Aman Sharma topped Lasse Rensing 6-2, 6-2 on court six, while Rethin Pranav Senthil defeated Sam Reeve 6-3, 6-2 on court five to clinch the match for Cornell.
Memphis falls to 7-10 and will travel to Boca Raton, Florida for their next match against No. 71 Florida Atlantic. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 22.
