Tigers Sweep Doubleheader with Wins Over Tennessee Tech, Tulane

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team put together a strong day at the Leftwich Tennis Center on Friday, sweeping a doubleheader with 4-1 victories over Tulane and Tennessee Tech.
Memphis opened the day with a solid performance against Tennessee Tech, taking the doubles point to gain an early advantage. Memphis earned wins on courts one and three, highlighted by a 6-2 victory from Lasse Rensing/Keoni Puig McCallan and a 6-4 win by Marcos Castro Fabra/Sam Reeve.
In singles, Memphis showed resilience in multiple three-set matches to secure the victory. After Tennessee Tech took the first singles point, the Tigers responded with three wins to clinch the match.
Obrad Markovski battled back after dropping the opening set to win 0-6, 6-1, 7-5 on court two, while Lasse Rensing followed with a hard-fought 6-0, 1-6, 7-5 win on court four. Sean O'Nuallain delivered the clincher on court six, earning a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory to seal the 4-1 result.
The Tigers carried their momentum into the second match of the day, using a strong showing in doubles to set the tone early. The Tigers secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three, as Sam Reeve/Lasse Rensing earned a 6-3 victory before Obrad Markovski/Marko Milosavljevic followed with a dominant 6-1 win.
In singles play, Memphis quickly built momentum with three straight-set victories to clinch the match. Moritz Kudernatsch led the charge on court one with a 7-5, 6-2 win, while Obrad Markovski delivered a convincing 6-0, 6-3 victory on court three. Keoni Puig McCallan sealed the team win with a 6-4, 6-2 decision on court six.
Tulane picked up its lone point on court four, but Memphis controlled the match throughout to secure the 4-1 win.
Memphis improves to 10-10 and will be back at Leftwich Tennis Center for senior day and the final home match of the season against Belmont. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 29.
