Elful Breaks 400-Meter Hurdles Record at Bulldog Relays

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Judy Elful surged to the second-fastest time in the nation Friday, clocking a 57.20 to win the 400-meter hurdles and break a 12-year-old school record at the Bulldog Relays.
Five distance runners, Kenny Guy, Jackson Turner, Robert Randall, Ben Huey and Urko Etxebeste set new personal-bests in their respective events at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday.
The Tigers put up one victory, 16 top-five finishes and 22 personal-bests. A full list of the lone victory, top-five finishes and PRs can be found below. Comprehensive meet results can be found in the link above.
Both of the 4x400-meter relay teams finished second in their respective races. The men's team, consisting of Bryson Wilson, Jacari Simpson, Kouto Anyika and Courtland Noble, recorded a time of 3:11.30. On the women's side, the team of Kaseiana Meriweather, Alex Allen, Rickaiya Whitman and Dejona Simpson put up a time of 3:46.01.
Marek Waltke and Isabelle Cruickshank made the podium in the javelin event. Waltke threw a personal-best at 69.23 meters while Cruickshank threw 48.36 meters for both individuals to finished third.
Kaseiana Meriweather ran career-best of 23.70 for a third-place finish in the 200-meter. Rickaiya Whitman followed in fifth with a personal-best of 23.81.
Tyler Bickerman put up a personal-best at the 800-meter with a time of 1:53.81.
Memphis returns to action next week in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in the Joey Haines Invite that starts on Friday, April 3.
