IRVING, Texas – Memphis guard Daejah Richmond was named to a pair of American Conference postseason teams on Monday morning, earning a spot on the All-Defensive Team and the All-Newcomer Team.
Richmond, Memphis' final transfer addition last offseason, has been a stand-out player on both ends of the floor, especially on defense. Her 88 steals rank seventh in program history and are the most since the 2009-10 season (Rasmus Lonlack). She led the conference in steals per game for the whole season (2.9) and conference play (3.3).
Leading the team with 951 minutes, Richmond spearheaded one of the biggest defensive turnarounds in the nation. After ranking last in the conference in defensive efficiency in 2024-25, the Tigers ranked fifth this year, as well as fifth in two-point and three-point defense while leading the conference in steals.
Her offensive contributions have been equally impressive, leading the team in points (13.9) and assists (3.7) per game. On two occasions this year, she led the team in all five major statistical categories, becoming one of 11 Division-I players since 1999-00 to do so twice in the same season.
In conference play, the Cordova native ranked second in minutes per game (35.6), sixth in assists (4.4) seventh in points (15.0), 17th in rebounds (5.9) and 18th in blocks (0.7).
