Fair Named to NCBWA Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis closer Carson Fair was one of 61 players named to the 2026 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List, the NCBWA announced Wednesday.
Fair, a junior from Southaven, Miss., carries a 3.50 ERA and a 1-0 record thus far this season. In 18.0 innings pitched Fair has recorded eight saves, 19 strikeouts, posted a 1.17 WHIP and .180 batting average against. His eight saves rank second in the American Conference and 13th in the nation.
Fair has delivered in some of Memphis' biggest moments this season. The right-hander secured a crucial save in the Tigers' upset of No. 18 Ole Miss, added another in a victory over Arkansas State, and recorded two more during Memphis' series sweep of Rice.
The NCBWA will announce the finalists for the award on June 3, with the winner being selected on June 12, at the 2026 Men's College World Series.
