Wang Named to PING All-Region East Team

NORMAN, Okla. — University of Memphis men's golfer Yixiang Wang was named to the PING All-Region East Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Saturday afternoon.
This marks the first All-Region selection for a Tiger since 2020, when Isaiah Jackson was named to the All-Region Southeast Team.
"Yixiang has continued to progress and this award is validation that he is on a great path," head coach Blake Smart said. "I am excited for Yixiang's future and proud of this recognition well earned."
Wang, a junior from Dalian, China, has put together a stellar campaign for Memphis this season. He secured a top-three finish four separate times, highlighted by his first individual collegiate victory at the Steelwood Collegiate in October.
Earlier this month, Wang earned All-American Conference honors for the second consecutive year. He also picked up two conference accolades during the season, being named the American Conference Golf Player of the Week on April 2, 2026, and Player of the Month in October 2025.
Wang and the Tigers are currently in Carlsbad, California, competing in the second round of the NCAA Championships at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa. Memphis tee times begin at 1:40 p.m. PST / 3:40 p.m. CST.
