Jul 17, 2026 | Men's Tennis
TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Memphis men's tennis program was recognized for its excellence in the classroom as the Tigers earned ITA All-Academic Team honors, while eight student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced this week.
"I am very proud of the standards we set in the classroom. The boys constantly achieve incredible grades with the very tough travel schedule we must have to compete at the highest level on the court. Big shout out to our academic advisor, Kristan Williams, who does a great job of getting the boys on task and organized." said head coach Chris Doerr.
Memphis received ITA All-Academic Team recognition after posting a team grade point average above the required 3.2 threshold during the 2025-26 academic year. To qualify for the honor, all student-athletes listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners are included in the team's cumulative GPA.
Eight Tigers earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition: Leandro Zgraggen, Obrad Markovski, Sam Reeve, Lasse Rensing, Sean O'Nuallain, Maxime Dubouch, Moritz Kudernatsch and Luis Carvalho.
Across Division I men's tennis, 1,008 student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, while 162 programs received ITA All-Academic Team recognition in 2026.
