2018-19 Season (Junior)
Was diagnosed with leukemia lymphoma after his sophomore season and began receiving treatments, which prevented him from playing. Azab lost his courageous eight-month battle with the disease Nov. 15, 2018.
2017-18 Season (Sophomore)
Appeared in 15 games as a reserve and finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks. . . . Made his debut Dec. 9 at FedExForum against Bryant. He played eight minutes and finished with a rebound and an assist, but did not score. . . . Had his best game Jan. 31 at USF in an 86-74 Memphis victory. He scored six points in 11 minutes and made each of three field-goal attempts. . . . Played a season-high 17 minutes Feb. 6 at home against No. 21 Wichita State. . . . Played in seven consecutive games from Jan. 31 to Feb. 22, a stretch in which he scored his 15 points. . . . Ended the season averaging 5.6 minutes, 1.0 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.

Was a member of the FIBA Africa Under-18 Gold Medal-winning Egyptian National Team in 2014 ... Averaged 1.1 blocks per game during the tournament, tied for seventh-best in the tournament ... Pulled down a team-best 11 rebounds in the final game of group play, while also scoring a tournament-high 18 points in the same game against Tunisia ... Averaged 5.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the tournament
