Masha Slupska joins the Memphis women's tennis coaching staff after finishing her playing career last year for the Lady Tigers. Slupska will serve as a student assistant coach as she works on her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.
Spring 2012: Named to the All-Conference USA second team Singles ... Named an ITA Scholar Athlete ... Ended the year ranked 98th ... Finished 17-4 in singles play and 18-3 in doubles ... Posted a 3-3 mark against ranked opponents ... Defeated No. 106 Christina Ngo of 13th-ranked Georgia Tech, 6-3, 6-1 ... Went undefeated in doubles at the C-USA Tournament with partner Stefanie Mikesz ... Defeated No. 37 Ashleigh Antal and Marie Casares of 18th-ranked Vanderbilt, 8-6, on Feb. 26.
Fall 2011: Won the Blue Singles bracket at the MT Shootout with three straight-set victories ... Advance to the Round of 32 in the Qualifying Draw of the ITF Amelia Island ... Picked up a 7-5, 6-3, win over No. 119 Madeleine Geibert (Nebraska) in the Pre-Qualifying Singles Draw of the ITA/Riviera All-American Championships ... Helped the Tigers achieve the program's best-ever showing at the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, advancing to the quarterfinals of both the singles and doubles main draws ... Won the title at the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic after besting teammate Courtney Collins, 6-3, 6-2, in the championship match.
Spring 2011: Named the Conference USA Newcomer of the Year and received a spot on the All-Conference USA third team ... Recorded a team-best 19-6 singles record, going 4-1 at the No. 1 position and 15-5 at the No. 2 spot ... Posted a 4-1 record in C-USA matches ... Won 11-straight matches at one point in the season ... Notched a solid 6-1, 6-3, victory over 57th-ranked Shinann Featherstone playing in the No. 2 spot against No. 5 North Carolina ... Also defeated No. 63 Auburn's Caroline Thornton ... Combined with Hawkins to post an 8-7 (7-5) victory over No. 20 Tulsa's Ewa Szatkowska and Michelle Farley.
Prior To Memphis: Transferred from Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, in January 2011 ... Won the top doubles flight at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships with partner Brooke Davis ... Helped the Apache Ladies capture the 2010 junior college national title ... Posted an 11-2 record in dual matches at the No. 1 slot in singles and went 12-3 in doubles during the 2009-10 season ... Finished the year ranked third nationally in singles and first in doubles while earning All-America status ... Member of women's tennis program at Kansas State in 2008-09.
