OXFORD, Miss. -- The University of Memphis rifle squad fell to Ole Miss 4,643-4,606 in its final Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) match of the 2010-11 season.
Sophomore Kelly Audet led the way for Memphis, posting collegiate career-high marks in air rifle (591) and smallbore (574) en route to a career-best 1,165 aggregate mark. Audet posted a perfect score of 100 in the second round of air rifle shooting.
Dan Hermsmeier captured the individual title in smallbore, posting a mark of 586--just one shy of his season-high set at the Skyhawk Invitational. Hermsmeier shot two perfect 100's in the prone position en route to the individual title. Hermsmeier also placed eighth in air rifle shooting with a score of 581.
Memphis returns to the line at the Ole Miss Rifle Range on Feb. 12 for the NCAA Sectional Qualifier.
