- Tonight’s contest between Memphis and USC Upstate was the first meeting between the two programs.
- With tonight’s win, Memphis now is 32-4 (.889 winning percentage) against first-time opponents since 2000-01. USC Upstate was the third of four first-time foes for the Tigers this season (Stephen F. Austin, N.C. Central and Western Illinois are the other three).
- With tonight’s win, the Tigers improved their record against Atlantic Sun Conference (A-Sun) foes to 14-2.

- The 42 points scored in the first half by the Tigers tied their highest-scoring first half of the season. Memphis also netted 42 first-half points in its Dec. 15 victory over N.C. Central (81-47).
- Tonight’s 83-point performance was the Tigers’ highest offensive output of the season.
- With tonight’s win, the Tigers improved their record at FedExForum to 181-23 (.887 winning percentage). The 180 homecourt wins are the most at the NCAA Division I level since 2004-05.

- Avery Woodson scored a season high 16 points vs. USC Upstate tonight.
- Avery Woodson tied a season best with four treys made vs. USC Upstate tonight.
- Trahson Burrell posted his first collegiate double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The 17 points and 12 rebounds both were season highs.
- Trahson Burrell’s 17-point performance was his sixth double-figure scoring game of the season.
- Pookie Powell posted season bests for points (16) and three-pointers made (four) tonight vs. USC Upstate.
