Women’s Soccer Drops Road Match At UCF

The Tigers return home next weekend for matches against Temple and UConn
ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Memphis women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 setback Sunday afternoon to No. 13 UCF on the road. The loss drops Memphis to 7-5-1 on the year and 1-2-1 in American Athletic Conference play.
UCF took an early 2-0 lead through the first half of action. In the 30th minute, the Tigers created an opportunity to cut the lead to one, but Serena Dolan's shot hit the crossbar.
The Tigers came out firing in the second half with 10 shots, five of which were on goal. Marie Levasseur and freshman Osa Iyare led the Tigers with three shots a piece. In her collegiate debut, freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg finished with five saves.
Memphis returns home next weekend for the final two regular season home matches. First the Tigers will take on Temple at 7 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex before celebrating Senior Day against UConn at 1 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the Billy J. Murphy Track & Soccer Complex.
