Tigers Jump Three Spots In Round Two of East Bay Deli Classic

Rodi Vlasveld continues to lead Tigers through two rounds
Kiawah Island, S.C. – The University of Memphis men's golf team jumped three places to seventh overall at the East Bay Deli Classic in Kiawah Island, S.C. Monday afternoon. The Tigers shaved off 28 strokes from round one to finish with a team score of 291 in round two.
Rodi Vlasveld continued his strong play for Memphis, carding a three-under 69 in round two. His two-day total of 147 currently has him sitting in a tie for sixth individually and two strokes shy of the clubhouse leaders. Vlasveld finished with four birdies to just one bogey in his third-lowest round this fall.
Brad Bawden made the biggest improvement in round two from round one, cutting off 14 strokes with a one-over 73. Borja Martin improved by 11 strokes and turned in an even par 72.
Memphis' fourth score of the day was a 77 by Nick Giles. Chase Harris and Jordan Even rounded out the Tigers squad with a pair of 79's.
No. 26 Tennessee maintains a 10-stroke lead heading into the final round. The Vols finished with a team score of two-under 286. Chattanooga carded a tournament-low 285 on Monday. Tennessee's Rhys Nevin-Wharton and Lorenzo Scalise and High Point's Emile Menard currently lead with a two-day total of 145.
